abnormally large jaw Etiology: - hereditary - pituitary gigantism - acromegaly - Paget's disease of bone (osteitis deformans) - leontiasis ossea Clinical manifestations: - mandibular protrusion (when mandible is affected) - 'gummy smile' (when maxilla is affected) - chin may appear prominent (when mandible is affected) Management: - surgery: osteotomy
