- associated with defects in cytokeratin-75
Clinical manifestations:
- anagen hairs are easily pulled from the scalp
- hair is relatively sparse & does not grow long
- hair of fair color & hair shafts of reduced caliber, & an early age of onset are features
- usually the hairs are not fragile & there are no areas of breakage
