2) antioxidant, lipid & water soluble

3) synthesized in humans, no deficiency syndromes known
4) appears to reset & synchronize circadian rhythms [3]
Indications:
1) diabetes
a) diabetic neuropathy [1]
b) glycemic control
2) ophthalmic conditions
a) cataracts
b) glaucoma
3) viral infections, block viral transcription
Dosage:
- 600 mg QD
Adverse effects:
- dermatologic reactions have been noted
Pathology:
- may be component of autoantigen of antimitochondrial antibody of primary biliary cirrhosis
