Pharmacokinetics:
- metabolized by CYP3A4
Drug interactions:
- lercanidipine increases plasma levels of cyclosporin & digoxin
Mechanism of action:
- like other dihydropyridine calcium channel blockers, lercanidipine blocks L-type calcium channels in vascular smooth muscle cells, relaxing them & lowering blood pressure
