Indications: - rule out Legionellosis (Legionnaire's disease) Clinical significance: - sensitivity: 60%--80%; specificity: >99% for Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1 - does not detect other Legionella strains [2] - can remain positive for long periods after resolution of infection [2] - sensitivity 62.5%; false negatives 37.5% [3]
