left colic flexure (splenic flexure)
The bend at the junction of the transverse & descending colon.
- usually more superior, more acute & less mobile than the right colic flexure
- lies anterior to the inferior part of the left kidney
- attaches to the diaphragm through the phrenicocolic ligament.
