- rare, < 1 in 10,000 live births
Pathology:
- membrane-like structure that extends across the laryngeal lumen at the level of the vocal cords
- other laryngeal congenital anomalies may be associated
Clinical manifestations:
- onset usually occurs during infancy
- hoarse or weak voice
- frequent upper respiratory infections
- respiratory distress
