Function: - transcriptional activator - binds in vitro to the CACCC motif of the beta-globin promoter & to the SP1 recognition sequence Structure: - the acidic N-terminal part may favor interaction with the basic domain of transcription factors - belongs to the krueppel C2H2-type Zn+2-finger protein family - contains 3 C2H2-type Zn+2 fingers Compartment: nucleus (probable) Expression: - ubiquitous - highly expressed in brain & spinal cord in adults highly expressed in kidney & brain in the embryo
