Indications: - rheumatoid arthritis - psoriatic arthritis - plaque psoriasis - ulcerative colitis - juvenile idiopathic arthritis - ankylosing spondylitis Adverse effects: - increased all-cause mortality, including sudden cardiovascular death - majoradverse cardiovascular events - thrombosis, deep venous thrombosis, pulmonary embolism [2] - malignancies (excluding non-melanoma skin cancer) * boxed warning: - risks of serious heart-related events, cancer, blood clots, & death Mechanism of action: - inhibitors of Janus kinase - current Janus kinase inhibitors are also small inhibitory antineoplastic agents
