1) increases circulating levels of phytoestrogens
a) daidzein (106-fold)
b) genistein (20-fold)
c) equol (19-fold)
2) no effect on FSH, LH, estradiol, or sex hormone binding globulin
3) no benefit for post-menopausal hot-flashes
