Indications: - iron deficiency anemia not responding to oral iron supplements Dosage: - given as IV push or slow infusion - 200 mg/week until iron stores are replete, then 200 mg/month for 4-6 months - No test dose is required Monitor: - blood pressure; injectable iron may cause hypotension.
