ipodate (Oragrafin)
Tradename: Oragrafin. (sodium ipodate)
Indications: diagnostic aid in oral cholecystography
Dosage:
1) oral: 3 g
2) give with the least amount of water possible
Capsules: 500 mg.
Adverse effects:
1) not common (1-10%)
- headache, urticaria, rash, nausea/vomiting, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, bitter taste, dysuria, decreased urine output, thrombocytopenia, anaphylactoid reaction, severe sickness
2) other
- potent inhibitor of T4 -> T3 conversion
