Management:
- ibuprofen 800 mg PO once
- 1% lidocaine paracervical block may decrease pain during & after IUD placement [1]
- lidocaine block administered at the tenaculum site & the cervicovaginal junction
- vaginal lidocaine gel may not be effective [2]
