interleukin-4 receptor (IL4 receptor)

Function: - combined IL-4 receptor & IL-13 receptor ? - activation of IL-4 receptor synergizes with PKC activation in inducing DNA synthesis in B cells - at least in part conveys signal through JAK3 - IL-4 response with role in promoting Th2 differentiation - IL4/IL13 responses with role in regulating IgE production &, chemokine & mucus production at sites of allergic inflammmation - in certain cell types, can signal through activation of insulin receptor substrates, IRS1/IRS2 - functional IL4 receptor is formed by initial binding of IL4 to IL4R. subsequent recruitment to the complex of the common gamma chain Structure: - heterodimer of IL-4 receptor alpha & common receptor gamma
