Epidemiology:
1) 50-55% of calcium-based urinary calculi
2) male:female ratio is 2:1
Genetics: hereditary?
Laboratory:
1) serum Ca+2 is normal
2) hypercalciuria
Differential diagnosis:
- hyperparathyroidism
- familial hypocalciuric hypercalcemia
- absorptive hypercalciuria
Management:
- thiazide diuretics (HCTZ)
