Structure:
- thick band of condensed pelvic fascia
Function:
1) conveys neurovascular structures & gives support to the pelvic region
2) gives passage to all the vessels & nerves passing from the lateral wall of the pelvis to the pelvic viscera, along with the ureters & in male the ductus deferens.
3) later on divides into 3 laminae that pass to or between the pelvic organs
