hyperuricosuria
Increased uric acid in the urine. It may occur as a result of hyperuricemia & may result in acute uric acid nephropathy or in formation of uric acid stones. Also associated with 20% of calcium-based urinary stones [2].
Epidemiology: male:female ratio 4:1
Laboratory:
- 24 hour urine uric acid
a) > 750 mg/24 hours women
b) > 800 mg/24 hours men
Management:
1) allopurinol
2) diet
