FK506-binding protein 4 (52 kD FK506 binding protein, hsp-binding immunophilin, FKBP59, FKBP4)

Function: - component of unactivated mammalian steroid receptor complex together with heat shock proteins HSP70 & HSP90 - may have a rotamase activity - may play a role in the intracellular trafficking of hetero- oligomeric forms of steroid hormone receptors - interacts with NR3C1 & dynein (putative) - associates with HSP90 & HSP70 in unactivated steroid hormone receptor complexes - interacts with peroxisomal phytanoyl-CoA alpha-hydroxylase (PHYH) - phosphorylation by CK2 results in loss of HSP90 binding activity (putative) - phosphorylated upon DNA damage, probably by ATM or ATR peptidylproline (omega=180) peptidylproline (omega=0) Structure: - contains 2 PPIase FKBP-type domains - contains 3 TPR repeats Compartment: cytoplasm, nucleus Expression: widely expressed
