hepatic leukemia factor (HLF)

Function: - binds DNA specifically as homodimer or heterodimer with other PAR factors Structure: - belongs to the bZIP family, PAR subfamily - contains 1 bZIP domain Compartment: nucleus (probable) Expression: - highly expressed in liver; lower levels in lung & kidney - accumulates according to a robust circadian rhythm Pathology: - chromosomal translocation t(17;19)(q22;p13.3) involving TCF3 with HLF is a cause of pre-B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL)
