G-protein coupled receptor 27; super conserved receptor expressed in brain 1 (GPR27, SREB1)

Function: - orphan receptor - possibly, amine-like G-protein coupled receptor Structure: - belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family Compartment: - cell membrane; multi-pass membrane protein Expression: - highly expressed as a 3.0 kb transcript in brain, ovary, testis, heart, prostate & peripheral Leukocytes - lower levels in pancreas & small intestine - a 2.3 kb transcript is found in peripheral blood leukocytes - in brain regions a) detected as a 3.0 kb transcript in all regions tested b) highest levels in the caudate nucleus, putamen, hippocampus & subthalamic nucleus c) lowest expression in the cerebellum
