Genistein is a naturally occuring protein tyrosine kinase (PTK) inhibitor, more selective than quercetin. It is also an isoflavone (phytoestrogen) & adversely affects viability of sperm in vitro. [2]
Formed via enzymatic metabolism in the gastrointestinal tract from its precursor genistin & daidzin. [3]
