Etiology:
1) generally results from deep mycotic infections in immuno- compromised hosts
2) self-limited polyarthritis rarely accompanies primary infection in immunologically intact hosts
Laboratory:
1) joint aspiration with culture
2) culture of tissue obtained elswhere
Management:
1) systemic anti-fungal agent
2) debridement
