Foster-Kennedy syndrome

Not to be confused with Kennedy disease. Etiology: - brain neoplasm of frontal lobe - meningioma Epidemiology: - rare Pathology: - optic nerve compression - olfactory nerve compression - increased intracranial pressure Clinical manifestations: - can manifest as acute visual loss - optic atrophy in the ipsilateral eye - optic disc edema in the contralateral eye - central scotoma in the ipsilateral eye - anosmia ipsilaterally - nausea/vomiting - memory loss - emotional lability
