Constituent of extended rod-like domain adjacent to globular actin-binding domain in actin-binding proteins. The extended rod is constructed from tandem repeats of ~ 100-residue Gly & Pro rich motif, the filamin repeat. Filamin has an extended rod constructed from 24 repeats.
