Indications: - hyperphosphatemia associated with chronic renal failure with concurrent iron-deficiency anemia [1] Dosage: - oral dosing. 6-12 pills/day Mechanism of action: - phosphate binder - also increases iron levels - reduces IV iron needs by ~50% &.erythropoiesis-stimulating agents (Epogen, etc) by ~25%
