FACT complex
Function:
1) general chromatin factor that acts to reorganize nucleosomes
2) involved in multiple processes that require DNA as a template including mRNA elongation, DNA replication & DNA repair
3) during transcription elongation, FACT complex acts as histone chaper structure
4) facilitates passage of RNA polymerase 2 & transcription by promoting the dissociation of one histone H2A-H2B dimer from the nucleosome, then subsequently promotes reestablishment of the nucleosome following passage of RNA polymerase 2
5) role in phosphorylation of Ser-392 of p53/TP53 via association with casein kinase 2
6) ADP-ribosylation of SUPT16H by PARP1 is induced by genotoxic stress & correlates with dissociation of FACT from chromatin
