Etiology: - most often results from improper or lack of eye protection while working in an environment with small flying debris - case report of eye foreign body from swimming through school of fish [2]* * underscores benefit of eye protection Clinical manifestations: - ocular foreign body sensation - eye pain may be present - hemorrhage may be associated with penetrating injury - hyphema Management: - eye wash - removal of foreign body - seek medical attention for a) larger foreign bodies b) metal pieces c) penetrating injury - do not put pressure on the injured eye
