extensor digital expansion (extensor aponeurosis, dorsal hood, dorsal expansion)

A traingular tendinous aponeurosis including the tendon of the extensor digitorum centrally, interosseous tendon on each side & a lumbrical tendon laterally. -> covers the dorsal aspect of the metacarpophalangeal joint & the proximal phalanx A comparable structure occurs on the foot.
