Testicular failure.
Etiology:
1) congenital
2) acquired
Clinical manifestations:
1) prepubertal
a) hypoplastic penis & testis
b) thin smooth skin
c) failure of the voice to deepen
d) female eschutcheon of pubic hair
e) absence of beard
f) poor muscular development
g) long limbs
h) broad hips
i) gynecomastia
2) postpubertal
a) testicular atrophy
b) pallor
Laboratory:
- urine chemistries:
1) normal or low androgens & 17-ketosteroids
2) high urinary gonadotropins
Radiology: delayed closure of epiphyses.
