esophageal plexus

One of 2 nervous plexuses (anterior & posterior) on the walls of the esophagus. Origin: 1) right vagus nerve & left recurrent (laryngeal?) nerve (anterior) 2) anastomosing trunks of the vagus from the pulmonary plexuses (posterior) Branches: - fibers supplying the mucous & muscular walls of the esophagus
