epinephrine/pilocarpine (E-Pilo-x PxEx)
Indications:
1) treatment of glaucoma
2) counter effects of cycloplegics
Dosage: 1-2 drops up to 6 times/day Ophthalmic solution: epinephrine bitartrate 1% & pilocarpine HCl
- 1%: E-pilo-1, P1E1 (15 mL)
- 2%: E-pilo-2, P2E1 (15 mL)
- 3%: E-pilo-3, P3E1 (15 mL)
- 4%: E-pilo-4, P4E1 (15 mL)
- 5%: E-pilo-5, P5E1 (15 mL)
- 6%: E-pilo-6, P6E1 (15 mL)
Adverse effects:
- not common (1-10%)
- miosis, ciliary spasm, blurred vision, retinal detachment, stinging, lacrimation, itching, vitreous hemorrhage, headache, photophobia, acute iritis, hypersensitivity, tachycardia, salivation, hypertension
