epidermodysplasia verruciformis

Etiology: 1) all warts are caused by human papilloma virus (HPV) 2) HPV types 3,5,8,9,10,12,14,15,17,19-25, 28,29 Epidemiology: rare Pathology: - abnormal susceptibility to infection by specific HPV types Genetics: 1) autosomal recessive 2) associated with defects in TMC6 gene associated with defects in TMC8 gene Clinical manifestations: - numerous HPV papules & macules Complications: - malignant transformation is common.
