enterovirus 71 vaccine

Indications: - immunization against enterovirus 71* - children age 6-35 months [2] * common cause of hand, foot, & mouth disease & other illnesses, including herpangina, viral meningitis, especially in the Asia-Pacific region Dosage: - 2 IM injections 4 weeks apart Notes: - vaccine efficacy is 95% against enterovirus 71 infection, & 100% in preventing hospitalization & & neurologic complications [2]
