Drug interactions: - clarithromycin, a potent inhibitor of cyt P450 3A4 can significantly increase plasma levels of calcium channel blockers - older patients may end up in hospital with hypotension or shock - reports of edema, arrythmias or heart block - combination linked to acute renal failure (RR=2) [2]
