drebrin-like protein (SH3 domain-containing protein 7, drebrin-F, cervical SH3P7, HPK1-interacting protein of 55 kD, HIP-55, cervical mucin-associated protein, DBNL, CMAP, SH3P7, PP5423)
Function:
1) actin-binding adapter protein
2) common effector of antigen receptor-signaling pathways in leukocytes (putative)
3) association with dynamin suggests that it may connect the actin cytoskeleton to endocytic function
4) component of the 'immunological synapse' that regulates T-cell activation by bridging TCRs & the actin cytoskeleton to gene activation & endocytic processes
5) binds to F-actin but is not involved in actin polymerization, capping or bundling
6) does not bind G-actin
7) interacts with SHANK2 & SHANK3 via SH3 domain
8) interacts with FGD1, dynamin, MAP4K1
9) degraded by caspases during apoptosis
Structure:
- contains 1 ADF-H domain
- contains 1 SH3 domain
Compartment:
- cytoplasm; cytoskeleton
- cortical cytoskeleton
- associates with lamellipodial actin
Alternative splicing: named isoforms=3
