Etiology:
1) damage to the corticospinal tracts in the midbrain or caudal diencephalon
2) bilateral lesions of the basal forebrain
3) severe metabolic encephalopathy
Clinical manifestations:
1) extension of the lower extremities, elbows & wrists
2) shoulder adduction
3) arm pronation
