Function: 1) role in the maintenance of intracellular purine/pyrimidine nucleotides in cooperation with other nucleotidases 2) preferentially hydrolyzes inosine 5-prime-monophosphate (IMP) & other purine nucleotides 3) allosterically activated by ATP 5'-ribonucleotide + H2O ribonucleoside + phosphate Compartment: cytoplasm Pathology: 1) defects or misregulation may be related to the urate production in hyperuricemia & gout
