CURB-65 criteria

Procedure: - Criteria: a) Confusion b) Uremia: BUN > 20 mg/dL c) Respiratory Rate > 30/min d) low Blood pressure (< 90/60 mm Hg) e) age >= 65 years - score 1 point for each of 5 criteria met Management: - patients with community-acquired pneumonia with a score of: a) 0-1: generally can be managed as an outpatient b) 2: admit to hospital c) > 2: consider admission to ICU
