criteria for hypercoagulability workup
Indications:
- < 40 years of age & one of the following
- 1st degree relative with venous thromboembolism
- may not be indicated in asymptomatic person [1]
- idiopathic thromboembolism
- thromboembolism at unusual site
- recurrent thromboembolism
- patients with purpura fulminans
- patient planning future pregnancy
- patients with warfarin skin necrosis
- associated with depletion of protein C
