CRAL-TRIO lipid binding domain
Structurally conserved domain of about 170 amino acids, forming a hydrophobic lipid binding pocket. The pocket floor consists of 6 beta-strands & the sides are formed by alpha-helices.
It is found in:
1) GTPase-activating proteins
2) guanine nucleotide exchange factors
3) hydrophobic ligand binding proteins
a) retinaldehyde-binding protein
b) alpha-tocopherol-binding protein
