Corrigan's pulse

Etiology: - chronic severe aortic regurgitation Pathology: - wide pulse pressure with large systolic stroke volume & rapid fall in arterial pressure Clinical manifestations: - a rapid forceful carotid upstroke with marked collapse - right carotid artery visibly pulsatile with the patient sitting - systolic swelling & rapid diastolic collapse [2] - dyspnea Special laboratory: - echocardiography Management: - aortic valve replacement
