left circumflex coronary artery

Origin: left main coronary artery Branches: left marginal artery Distribution: 1) lateral wall of the left ventricle 2) In 10% of individuals, the left circumflex gives rise to a posterior descending branch supplying the posterior wall & inferior wall/apex of the heart. These same individuals also have a small branch of the left circumflex supplying the AV node. Course: -> proceeds posteriorly along the AV groove between the left atrium & left ventricle
