Tests designed to measure the amount of contrast required to detect a specific stimulus. Contrast sensitivity testing attempts to determine the eye's ability to detect subtle variations of shading by presenting letters, figures, or sine wave gratings that are varied in contrast, luminance, & spatial frequency.
