Indications: - treatment of premalignant lesions of the uterine cervix Contraindications: - not appropriate for initial evaluation of a cervical mass [4] Procedure: - excision of a cone of tissue, especially mucosa of the uterine cervix - excision can be performed using a) scalpel b) CO2 laser c) loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP)
