Based on Working Formulation. Classification: 1) Low-Grade 1) small lymphocytic - Rappaport - lymphocytic, well differentiated - Lukes-Collins - small lymphocyte & plasmacytoid lymphocytic 2) follicular, predominantly small cleaved cell* - Rappaport - nodular, poorly differentiated lymphocytic - Lukes-Collins - FCC#, small, cleaved - Kiel - centroblastic-centrocytic lymphoma, follicular 3) follicular, mixed small cleaved & large cell - Rappaport - nodular, mixed lymphocytic histiocytic - Lukes-Collins - FCC#, small cleaved & large cleaved - Kiel - centroblastic-centrocytic lymphoma, follicular 2) Intermediate-Grade a) follicular, predominantly large cell - Rappaport - nodular, histiocytic - Lukes-Collins - FCC#, large cleaved &/or noncleaved - Kiel - centroblastic lymphoma, follicular b) diffuse, small cleaved cell - Rappaport - diffuse, poorly differentiated lymphocytic - Lukes-Collins - FCC#, small cleaved diffuse c) diffuse, mixed small & large cell - Rappaport - diffuse, mixed lymphocytic & histiocytic - Lukes-Collins - FCC#, small cleaved, large cleaved, or large noncleaved d) diffuse, large cell - Rappaport - diffuse histiocytic - Lukes-Collins - FCC#, large cleaved or noncleaved 3) High-Grade a) large cell, immunoblastic - Rappaport - diffuse histiocytic - Lukes-Collins - immunoblastic B-cell or T-cell type b) lymphoblastic - Rappaport - lymphoblastic lymphoma - Lukes-Collins - convoluted T-cell lymphoma c) small non cleaved cell - Rappaport - undifferentiated, Burkitt's & non Burkitt's - Lukes-Collins - FCC#, small noncleaved * most common form # follicle center cells
