Epidemiology: - blacks, Sephardic Jews, West Indians, Arabs of Middle East Pathology: - subpopulations of suppressor T-cells that suppress granulopoiesis have been described - good bone marrow reserve - patients are not prone to developing infections [2] Laboratory: - complete blood count (CBC) - neutropenia 1000-1500/uL [2] * detailed workup usually not indicated Differential diagonsis: - cyclic neutropenia (risk of infections during nadir) [2] Management: - not treatment or follow-up needed
