cell division cycle-associated protein 7 (protein JPO1) (CDCA7 JPO1)

Function: - role in MYC-mediated cell transformation - induces anchorage-independent growth & clonogenicity in lymphoblastoid cells - insufficient to induce tumorigenicity when overexpressed but contributes to MYC-mediated tumorigenesis - role as transcriptional regulator - activated by MYC & possibly E2F1 Compartment: nucleus Alternative splicing: named isoforms=4 Expression: - ubiquitous with higher level in thymus & small intestine Pathology: - expression correlated with MYC expression in lymphoblastoid, lymphoma & breast cancer cell lines - overexpressed in a large number of tumors, in blood from patients with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) & in chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) blast crisis
