cdc25 protein

The cdc25 protein catalyzes guanine nucleotide exchange for the ras1 & ras2 proteins, activators of yeast adenylate cyclase. Some confusion here. In fission yeast, drosophila, & humans, the product of CDC25 gene (p54cdc25) promotes G2 -> M transition via dephosphorylation of p34cdc2 (CDK1) in MPF or yeast equivalent (ref 2)
