Function: - component of integrin alpha-L/beta-2 (CD11a/CD18) - forms complex with CD18 - binds to CD54 & CD102 Structure: - the integrin I-domain (insert) is a VWFA domain. - integrins with I-domains do not undergo protease cleavage - belongs to the integrin alpha chain family - contains 7 FG-GAP repeats - contains 1 VWFA domain Compartment: membrane Alternative splicing: named isoforms=2 Expression: - all leukocytes - platelets stain negatively with antibody.
