Function:
1) role as inhibitor of T-cells proliferation induced by CD3
2) inhibits expression of IL2RA on activated T-cells & secretion of IL2
3) inhibits tyrosine kinases required for IL2 production & cellular proliferation
4) inhibits phospholipase C-gamma-1/PLCG1 phosphorylation & subsequent CD3-induced changes in intracellular free Ca+2
5) prevents nuclear translocation of NFAT to nucleus
6) role in inhibition of T-cell proliferation via IL10 secretion by cutaneous dendritic cells

- marker of CD4(+) CD56(+) leukemic tumor cells (putative)
